All classes are small ( 3-4 students) and individualized for each student. Classes are listed for the:
-Landscape Class where you will create a 8x10 fused piece from an image you provide
-Bowl Class where you will design and make up to 3 bowls
-Tree Tray where you learn various tree making techniques, and powder, water, and heat where you will learn several techniques including making waves.

If class dates or subjects don't work for you I will work with your calendar or need to create a special experience just for you.

The Glass Immersion 2022 was a great success for participants and instructors. We have planned Glass Immersion 2023 for May 16-22. This full seven day class will include, but not be limited to, the following glass experiences: pre- mades, landscape, reactions, vitrograph, murrini, combing, dropout vessels, and yard art. Design and color will be discussed during each activity and a session on display and glues will be included. Five experienced instructors will facilitate your learning experience.

Private classes of 3 or 4 students can be arranged for any time period by emailing me.

Current COVID mandates will be followed. This will impact access to and participation in any event, show, or class which involves the public.

Cancellation And Return Policy

  • All classes will be paid in full upon registration.
  • Classes may be exchanged up to ten days prior to the class date.
  • Classes may be exchanged for a class of the same title or of the same price.
  • If no later date is available you will be added to a wait list for when a new class is added.
  • Exchanges after the ten day time limit are available only if we can fill your seat, and only if another date is available
  • If a class is cancelled due to weather or health/safety reason the class will be rescheduled and your place will be reserved.
  • If a class is cancelled due to not enough students you will be offered place in another scheduled class.

Classes


Tree Tray

Learn multiple ways of creating trees. You'll create one 5x12 piece with an option to have it slumped. 1 day class.

Landscape Class

Create an 8x10 inch landscape from an image you bring. The classes are individualized and encourage learning and interaction between participant. On day 1 you will create you 8x10 landscape. On day 2 the class will choose a project to learn or practice a technique. Review the landscape process, critique the work, and cold work as necessary 2 day class

Bowl Classes

You will have the opportunity to make several bowls of different sizes and shapes. You will learn about the properties of full fusing, layering, bubble control, glass reactions. You will access the shop to add accessory glass to your design and special technique requests will be accommodated. Two kiln firings required. Project pick up or mailing arranged during class time. 1 day class.

Water, Powder, Heat

3 small projects are created with three different techniques using mainly powder and water. Projects: ocean scene, powder carving, crackle. Arrangement for project pick up or mail are made during class time. 1 day class.

Bas Relief

This is a shallow sculptural piece created from layers of fiber paper, powdered glass, and glass accessories. This sculpture is created with the front of the piece against the kiln shelf and then built up to the back. The final tile has a matte finish. On day 1 you will create the molding built the tile and on day 2 you will clean and finish the tile. 2 day class.

Pate de Verre

A sculptural technique in which powder and fine frit are combined with a binder and made into a paste. This paste is tamped into a mold and fired. Tiles and vessels can be created. The vessels are not water tight. On day 1 you will create the mold, day 2 you will fill the mold and on day 3 you will remove and clean your piece. 3 day class.

Glass + one client-in-studio day = $300
